From a Farmer’s Son in Kampong Cham to a Digital Problem Solver: The Inspiring Journey of Heng Makara, Founder of Ads Adviser

PHNOM PENH, CAMBODIA – In an exclusive interview, Cambodia’s rising tech specialist Heng Makara opened up about the human story behind his tech-driven career. Driven by Roots, Guided by Logic

Born the son of a farmer in the quiet Ph’av commune of Kampong Cham, Makara shared how he grew up understanding the raw meaning of hard work and sacrifice. Eager to build a bright future, he moved to the capital and earned a university degree in Law (Jurisprudence). But while his studies taught him how to think critically, his heart belonged to technology.

In his interview, he recalled the turning point in 2014 when, driven by curiosity, he began spending countless nights teaching himself the hidden mechanics of social media networks and digital advertising. By 2018, those quiet hours paid off. He transitioned into helping local creators and business owners protect their online pages and secure their digital livelihoods.

With a creative soul that also led him to work as an Assistant Director (AD) for short films and commercials, Makara eventually poured all his diverse talents into founding Ads Adviser—a digital agency built on empathy and protection.

"Most people who reach out to me are carrying a heavy burden—a blocked account, a sudden technical glitch, or a business roadblock that threatens their livelihood," Makara shared with a warm smile during the interview.
