His Majesty the King to Return Home After Successful Medical Treatment

PHNOM PENH, June 30, 2026 – His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni is preparing to return to Cambodia after showing positive signs of recovery, following more than three months of medical care in Beijing, according to an official announcement from the Ministry of the Royal Palace.

The King underwent surgery and received comprehensive treatment under the close supervision of a dedicated medical team at a hospital in the Chinese capital. His Majesty's health has shown gradual improvement throughout the period of care.

Both His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk have expressed their wish to come back to Cambodia shortly. Upon their arrival, the King will continue to receive follow-up medical attention and health monitoring at the Royal Palace in Phnom Penh, as recommended by his attending physicians.

The announcement also conveyed Their Majesties' deep appreciation for the prayers and well-wishes extended by the Supreme Patriarchs, the Sangha, national leaders, civil servants, and the Cambodian people. Their Majesties expressed gratitude for the unwavering support shown during the King's treatment and recovery.
