Cambodia Hands Over ASEAN Military Medical Conference Flag to Laos

PHNOM PENH, June 30, 2026 – Cambodia has officially handed over the flag of the ASEAN Chiefs of Military Medical Conference (ACMMC) to Laos, marking the successful conclusion of the 13th ACMMC held in Phnom Penh.

The handover ceremony took place on the afternoon of June 29, during the closing session of the conference, which was themed "Strengthening Preparedness and Resilience of ASEAN Military Medical Services in Addressing Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Threats." H.E. General Moeung Ponlork, Director General of the Finance and Logistics Department at the Ministry of National Defence, presented the flag to the Lao delegation, who will host the 14th ACMMC in 2027.

H.E. Brigadier General Chan Daravuth, Director of the Health Department at the Ministry of National Defence, expressed pride in the outcomes of the conference. He noted that the event provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences and discussing key topics to strengthen solidarity and cooperation among ASEAN military medical services in responding to public health challenges and regional disasters.

H.E. General Moeung Ponlork, emphasized the importance of cooperation among ASEAN nations and international partners in enhancing military medical capabilities, preparedness, and emergency response to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. He expressed confidence that the results and recommendations from the conference would serve as a foundation for practical actions and further strengthen ASEAN military medical cooperation in the future.
