No Penalty for Licence Renewal Within 30 Days of Expiry, Ministry Clarifies
PHNOM PENH – Cambodian drivers whose licences have expired for no more than 30 days are not subject to penalties when renewing, according to the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
For licences expired beyond 30 days, a daily fine of 500 riel applies until renewal is completed.
Required Documents for Renewal:
Original driving licence to be replaced
Cambodian national ID card (original copy certified by competent authority, or original identity verification letter issued by the General Department of Identification, or certified copy with thumbprint in front of service officer, or letter confirming personal identity data from the General Department of Identification)
Medical certificate
Three 4x6 white-background photos
Service Fees:
Type "A" (motorbike): 20,000 riel
Types "B", "C", "D", "E" (cars and other vehicles): 30,000 riel
