Cambodia and Philippines Strengthen Ties as Ambassador Concludes Mission

PHNOM PENH, July 8, 2026 – Cambodia and the Philippines have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening friendly relations and close cooperation, as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Prak Sokhonn received the farewell call of the outgoing Philippine Ambassador.

On the morning of July 8, H.E. Prak Sokhonn met with Her Excellency Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to Cambodia, who has successfully completed her diplomatic mission in the Kingdom.

The Deputy Prime Minister commended the ambassador for her valuable contributions to strengthening and expanding bilateral ties across various sectors, particularly in facilitating the success of the Official Visit of Prime Minister Hun Manet to the Philippines and the State Visit of Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to Cambodia in 2025.

Ambassador Mayo expressed her deep gratitude to the Deputy Prime Minister and all colleagues at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their active cooperation during her diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

During the meeting, H.E. Prak Sokhonn also provided an update on the development of the Cambodia-Thailand border situation.
