Cambodia's verify.gov.kh (https://verify.gov.kh/) Gains UN Recognition as Geneva AI Dialogue Continues
PHNOM PENH, July 9, 2026 – Cambodia's digital document verification platform verify.gov.kh (https://verify.gov.kh/) has once again gained international recognition during the ongoing Global Dialogue on AI Governance in Geneva, with the United Nations inviting the Kingdom to showcase the platform on the UN Digital Cooperation Portal.
The invitation was extended during a meeting between H.E. Chea Vandeth, Minister of Post and Telecommunications, and H.E. Amandeep Singh Gill, UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Envoy on Technology, on the second day of the dialogue, which continues to bring together world leaders and digital ministers from more than 170 countries.
During the meeting, Minister Chea Vandeth briefed the UN official on Cambodia's digital capacity-building efforts, including the Techo Digital Talent Scholarship, Community Technology Centres, and public digital infrastructure such as verify.gov.kh (https://verify.gov.kh/).
The UN Special Envoy commended Cambodia's commitment and the success of verify.gov.kh (https://verify.gov.kh/), which has already won the 2026 UN Public Service Award. He invited Cambodia to share its experience on the UN Digital Cooperation Portal and to co-chair the UN Open Source Week in 2027.
Notably, verify.gov.kh (https://verify.gov.kh/) has previously won the gold medal at the ASEAN Digital Awards 2024 in Singapore and the Outstanding Digital Service Award at the 20th World Summit on the Information Society Forum in Switzerland.
The recognition adds to Cambodia's growing reputation as an emerging digital leader in the region.
