Lion Corporation Looks to Cambodia to Expand ASEAN Production Footprint
PHNOM PENH, July 13, 2026 – Lion Corporation, one of Japan's leading personal care manufacturers, is considering Cambodia as its next production hub in Southeast Asia, as the company looks to expand its regional manufacturing footprint.
The company's delegation, led by International Business Director Takenobu Yamamoto, met with H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary General of the Cambodian Investment Board, on July 13 to discuss the potential investment.
Lion Corporation, established in 1981, produces a wide range of consumer goods including shampoo, detergent, toothpaste, and toothbrushes. The company already operates factories in Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, and is now eyeing Cambodia as a strategic addition to its ASEAN production base.
H.E. Chea Vuthy welcomed the company's interest and highlighted Cambodia's improving investment climate, supported by ongoing infrastructure development and government incentives for the private sector. He urged the company to move forward with its investment plans and consider locating its facility within a special economic zone.
The meeting signals growing confidence among Japanese investors in Cambodia's manufacturing potential.
