Cambodian PM's China Visit to Strengthen Strategic Partnership, Diamond Cooperation Framework

PHNOM PENH, July 13 — Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet will pay a working visit to China from July 15 to 17, where he is scheduled to hold talks with Chinese leaders and attend the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference in Shanghai, according to Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The visit, made at the invitation of the Chinese government, will include meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to discuss bilateral cooperation and other issues of mutual interest, the ministry said in a press release issued on Monday.

Hun Manet will also deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of the 2026 World AI Conference on July 17. The event will be held under the theme, "AI Partnership for a Brighter Future."

The Cambodian delegation will include Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice-Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Tea Seiha, along with other ministers, senior government officials and representatives of the Cambodian business community.

According to the ministry, the visit is expected to strengthen the Cambodia-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership of Cooperation, advance the Diamond Cooperation Framework, and promote cooperation across a range of sectors. Hun Manet is also scheduled to meet representatives of the Chinese business community during his stay in China.
