Over 60,000 Join Environmental Clean-Up Campaign in Prey Veng Province

PHNOM PENH, July 17, 2026 – More than 60,000 people across Prey Veng province took part in a large-scale environmental clean-up campaign on July 16, as local authorities continue to promote public hygiene and community responsibility.

According to the provincial administration, a total of 60,691 participants joined the campaign, including officials from provincial departments, municipal and district authorities, as well as local residents from communes and sangkats across all 13 districts.

The largest participation came from Mesang district with 14,627 people, followed by Pea Reang district with 10,561, and Kampong Trabek district with 7,039. Other districts also contributed significant numbers, including Kamchay Mear with 7,235, Preah Sdach with 2,297, and Svay Antor with 2,497.

The campaign is part of the provincial administration's ongoing efforts to maintain environmental cleanliness, with every Thursday designated as a regular clean-up day for all government institutions and private establishments.
