Vehicle Registration Made Simple: Ministry Lists Four Required Documents

PHNOM PENH, July 17, 2026 – The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has clarified the documentation requirements for Cambodian citizens seeking to register their vehicles, in response to public inquiries.

The ministry's official Facebook page stated that the requirements are based on Prakas No. 123, issued on May 23, 2025, which governs vehicle registration, license plate issuance, and deregistration procedures.

To complete the registration process, citizens must provide four essential documents: a valid Cambodian National ID Card (or equivalent identity documents), the original vehicle tax receipt, a vehicle technical inspection certificate, and the purchase or sale agreement.
