Auckland, March 20, 2026 — Cambodia and New Zealand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on March 20 to strengthen rice trade and investment cooperation, according to officials. The agreement was signed in Auckland with support from the Agricultural and Rural Development Bank (ARDB).

The MOU was signed between the Cambodia Rice Federation (CRF) and the Representative Office of the Cambodia Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand to expand market access for Cambodian rice and enhance trade ties.

Dr. Kao Thach, Director General of ARDB, alongside CRF President Okhna Lay Chun Hour and Mr. Khuy Michael, attended the ceremony. The agreement aims to boost exports, improve market information exchange, and strengthen business connections between the two countries.

Dr. Kao Thach urged both sides to ensure effective implementation of the MOU and to promote investment and trade opportunities, noting that the effort would help improve Cambodian farmers’ livelihoods.
