Cambodia, FBI Join Forces to Crush Transnational Cybercrime
PHNOM PENH, July 22, 2026 – Cambodia and the United States have forged a stronger alliance against transnational crime, as the National Police Chief met with FBI Director Kash Patel to deepen cooperation in fighting online fraud and technology-enabled scams.
During a high-level meeting at the Ministry of Interior on July 22, H.E. General Sar Thet, Commissioner General of the National Police, and FBI Director Patel agreed to expand joint efforts to dismantle cybercrime networks operating across borders.
The two sides also committed to enhancing training programmes for Cambodian police forces, equipping them with the skills needed to tackle increasingly sophisticated digital crimes.
The meeting signals a significant step forward in Cambodia-U.S. security cooperation, reinforcing the Kingdom's resolve to protect its citizens from the growing threat of online scams.
