Siem Reap Offers Free City Bus Travel During Khmer New Year Holiday

Siem Reap, March 20, 2026 — Siem Reap provincial authorities have announced free City Bus services during the upcoming Khmer New Year holiday, according to the provincial administration.

The free transportation will be available for six days, from April 12 to April 17, 2026, as part of efforts to facilitate travel for residents and visitors during the traditional celebration.

According to officials, the Phnom Penh Municipal Public Transport Authority has arranged 115 buses to operate routes between Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, as well as return trips between the two locations.

Buses departing from Phnom Penh will operate from April 12 to April 16, running daily from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The departure point is the OCIC area in Chroy Changvar, near the Tep Monorom roundabout, with arrivals at the Siem Reap provincial administration parking area along Samdech Vibol Panha Sok An Boulevard (60-meter road).

For return trips from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, buses will operate from April 13 to April 17, also from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., departing from the provincial administration parking area and arriving at the OCIC parking area in Chroy Changvar.

The initiative aims to support convenient and accessible travel during the holiday period, according to the Siem Reap Provincial Administration.
