PHNOM PENH – The Preah Srey Içanavarman Museum (Sosoro) has opened a new temporary exhibition titled "A Lexical Survey: When Khmer Meets French," exploring the linguistic exchange between the two languages.

According to the museum, the Khmer language has borrowed words from various languages over time, while also contributing back to them. Today, French is considered one of the most significant sources of loanwords in Khmer.

The exhibition invites visitors to discover the rich history of linguistic interaction between Khmer and French, highlighting how the two languages have influenced each other.

The museum is located in the former Indochina Bank building at the corner of Street 13 and Street 106. It is open from Tuesday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, with free admission.
