Runners Gear Up for 11th Angkor Empire Marathon at Angkor Wat
PHNOM PENH, July 25, 2026 – Excitement is building as the 11th Angkor Empire Marathon 2026 prepares to welcome thousands of runners to the majestic setting of Angkor Wat Temple in Siem Reap on August 2.
Organisers have confirmed the race schedule, with the 42-kilometre full marathon starting at 4:30 am, followed by the 21-kilometre half-marathon at 5:30 am. The 10-kilometre run will begin at 5:40 am, while the 3-kilometre fun run starts at 5:50 am.
The start and finish line is located in front of Angkor Wat Temple, one of Cambodia's most treasured landmarks. Participants are reminded to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled start time and to wear their official race bib numbers at all times for security clearance.
In case of medical emergencies, runners should stop along the route and contact the bicycle patrol team or call the emergency numbers printed on their bibs: 017 609 727, 092 666 096, or 093 800 086.
