Cambodia Deports 21 Vietnamese Nationals for Illegal Stay and Work

PHNOM PENH, July 29, 2026 – Cambodia has deported twenty-one Vietnamese nationals for illegal stay and unauthorized work, as authorities continue to enforce immigration laws.

The deportation took place on July twenty-eighth through the Kham Samnar International Border Checkpoint, following instructions from Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sar Sokha and Immigration Department Director General Sok Veasna.

The individuals, including four women, were found to have overstayed their visas and engaged in unauthorized work. Drug-related offenses were also detected.

Prime Minister Hun Manet has made it clear that Cambodia will not allow criminals or illegal foreigners to use its territory for unlawful activities. "Authorities must continue to crack down and deport without exception," he said.

Under the leadership of Deputy Prime Minister Sar Sokha, police continue to investigate criminal networks and rescue victims who were tricked into illegal operations.
