Queen Mother Honoured with Prestigious Champions Award from Girl Guides

PHNOM PENH, July 30, 2026 – A moment of royal grace and national pride unfolded at the Royal Palace on Thursday morning, as the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia presented the prestigious Champions Award to Her Majesty Queen Mother Norodom Monineath Sihanouk.

The award, bestowed by the Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS), was presented during a royal audience led by the Association's National Commissioner. The honour was conferred in recognition of the Queen Mother's lifelong dedication to humanitarian work and her role as Honorary President of the Girl Guides Association of Cambodia.

The ceremony coincided with Cambodia's successful hosting of the 39th WAGGGS World Conference and the 42nd OB-PS Annual Meeting in Siem Reap earlier this year.

During the audience, the delegation also shared a summary report on the Association's progress and achievements, highlighting the growing impact of the Girl Guides movement across the Kingdom.

The Queen Mother, a beloved figure of grace and compassion, continues to inspire generations of Cambodians through her unwavering commitment to the nation.
