Cambodia Rank 1st in Global Petrol Price Surge

Phnom Penh, March 20, 2026 — Cambodia has recorded the steepest rise in petrol prices among 10 countries, underscoring the country’s exposure to global fuel shocks and import dependency.

In the latest data published (March 19, 2026), Cambodia tops the ranking with a 67.81% increase in petrol prices, significantly higher than Vietnam (49.73%) and Laos (39.94%). The comparison also includes Nigeria (35.02%), Canada (28.26%), Pakistan (24.49%), Maldives (18.54%), Australia (18.23%), the United States (16.55%), and Singapore (15.69%).

The figures highlight the mounting pressure on fuel costs amid volatile global energy markets. With Cambodia relying heavily on imported fuel, fluctuations in international oil prices continue to have a direct and amplified impact on domestic prices.

Analysts note that the figures represent the latest available data and may be subject to updates as new information emerges or global energy conditions change.
