Cambodia Sets Monthly Allowance, Benefits for Conscripted Soldiers

PHNOM PENH, August 13, 2026 – Conscripted military personnel are entitled to a monthly allowance of 400,000 riel (approximately $100) along with a range of additional benefits, including daily meals, training supplements, and family support, under Chapter 5 of Cambodia's military regulations.

According to Article 16, conscripted soldiers receive:

- Monthly allowance: 400,000 riel per person

- Additional benefits: Equivalent to those of professional soldiers, including:

+Daily meal allowance

+Supplementary food allowance during training

+Family and child support benefits

+Daily rice ration

+Combat uniforms and essential equipment

Article 17 further stipulates that conscripted soldiers who become ill, injured, or suffer other accidents are entitled to rescue, treatment, and care provided by the Ministry of National Defence.

The policy aims to ensure that conscripted personnel receive adequate financial support and care while fulfilling their military obligations.
