Women Entrepreneurs from ASEAN and China Explore Siem Reap's Local Industries

PHNOM PENH, August 21, 2026 – Around 100 delegates from ASEAN member states and China toured local enterprises in Siem Reap on August 19 as part of the ASEAN–China Women Entrepreneurs Exchange, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The delegation, led by Under-Secretary of State Yeap Samnang, visited five local businesses: Cambodia Hair Extensions, Samnang Sothea Fish Processing Handicraft, Vanhong Jewelers, Angkor Silk Farm by Artisans Angkor, and SATCHA–Cambodia Handicraft Center.
The visits gave participants a closer look at the operations and best practices of Cambodian MSMEs, while creating opportunities for networking and discussion on business development and market access. The programme also emphasized the vital role of MSMEs in job creation, community empowerment, and building resilient and inclusive economies.
The event highlighted the importance of economic diplomacy and women's entrepreneurship in deepening ASEAN–China ties, while offering a platform to showcase Siem Reap's cultural heritage, traditional crafts, and local livelihoods.
The Exchange was organized by Cambodia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, with support from the Chinese government through the ASEAN-China Cooperation Fund.
