First Lady Chanmony Pich Delivers New Homes and Livelihood Support to Soldiers' Families in Siem Reap

PHNOM PENH, August 24, 2026 – Cambodia's First Lady, Dr. Chanmony Pich Hun Manet, made a heartfelt visit to Siem Reap province on August 22 to personally hand over eight newly built homes to the families of fallen soldiers who lost their lives defending Cambodia's sovereignty.

The homes were offered as a gift from Prime Minister Hun Manet and the First Lady, as part of a continued commitment to support the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice. During the emotional ceremony, Dr. Chanmony Pich took time to sit with each family, offering comfort, listening to their stories, and expressing her gratitude for their loved ones' bravery.

In addition to the homes, she provided cash gifts, essential household items, and food supplies to help lighten the families' daily struggles.

“We must never forget that behind every soldier's sacrifice is a family that deserves our care, respect, and support,” she said. “We are here not just to give homes, but to give hope.”

The following day, the First Lady visited Prasat Bakong district to inspect the launch of a new agricultural livelihood programme aimed at providing sustainable income and skills training to the families of veterans and frontline forces. The initiative is part of a broader government effort to ensure that those who have served the nation are not left behind.

Through these visits, the First Lady reaffirmed the government's pledge to stand by the families of Cambodia's heroes—ensuring they have not only shelter, but also the tools and opportunities to build a brighter future.
